STUDENTS

Students interested in pursuing a career in the construction industry are encouraged to sign up for the inaugural ICR career fair.  With nearly 100 member companies, the ICR encompasses a wide range of firms with a variety of needs. The career fair is an opportunity for students to showcase their abilities to these companies, as well as participating non-member companies, and make lasting connections within the industry.  In a tough job market, it is important that students do all they can to set themselves apart in the eyes of prospective employers.  The ICR career fair provides students a opportunity to distinguish themselves from the competition.  Attendees will have the opportunity to speak one-on-one with company representatives about internship and job opportunities as well as their experiences working in the construction industry.

Attendance is free, but registration prior to the event is very much encouraged.

EMPLOYERS

The ICR career fair will provide a great opportunity for companies to connect with the next generation of employees.  By partnering with local colleges and universities, the ICR has been able to locate students with the skills and drive required to succeed in our industry.  Students from Purdue, Ball State, IUPUI, Rose Hulman, and other local colleges and universities will be in attendance to speak with prospective employers offering internship opportunities in construction-related fields.

By inviting students with a wide variety of degrees and educational backgrounds, we are certain that companies will find employees who are the right fit for the job.  The career fair is a product of the ICR’s Workforce Development Initiative.  Since the creation of the ICR in 1995, the development of a highly skilled and educated workforce has been an important initiative for the association. Success in this task has been made easier by the large number of local educational institutions with ties to the construction industry. The career fair is a way to stop the exodus, and keep the talent that is being developed in Indiana in-state after graduation.

The deadline for application for a booth is March 22nd.
